If I could photograph non-profit events with great causes every day I would! This year marked the 7th year in a row that a group of DEA special agents get together for an event to honor the military and those who paid the ultimate sacrifice defending our country.
Open for anyone to participate, the Maltz Challenge is a timed fitness circuit consisting of eight events:
-400 meter run
-50 pull-ups
-100 meter fireman’s carry or 200 meter farmer’s walk (50lb. dumbell for men; 25lb. dumbell for women)
-50 dips
-100 push-ups
-50 knees-to-elbows
-100 sit-ups
-400 meter run
The 50 pull-ups right at the beginning is brutal! The event in Colorado was held at the Denver Broncos Football Facility (go broncos!):
This annual event began in 2007 and is held in memory of USAF MSGT Michael Maltz, who was killed in action during a rescue mission in Afghanistan on March 23, 2003. The 2013 event in Denver honored Navy Seaman Christopher Anderson (and his gold star parents):
Congrats to all of the participants, it was a pleasure meeting you and photographing such a great cause!
Thank you Todd Gregory for allowing me to play a small role in a great cause!
