Ronald Reagan's Ranch

Rancho del Cielo, Ronald Reagan’s Ranch is north of Santa Barbara and nothing short of spectacular!  Purchased and preserved by the Young America’s Foundation, it seems as if Reagan left the house this morning… His clothes are hanging in the closet, there are horses in the pasture and the grounds are meticulous.

I’ve been very lucky to have had many event photography photo shoots here.  Some images from the weekend:

I typically look at pigeons as rats with wings, but these two on top of a pole enjoying the sunset seemed picturesque!

Reagan’s Ranch, Rancho del Cielo is a gorgeous 688 acre property, but the adobe home is a tiny modest ranch style house.  It’s neat to think that if you put the amount of time together, Reagan spent a year at this location during the 8 years he was president and even had British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, Queen Elizabeth II and Soviet Leader Mikhail Gorbachev visit him there.

One of my favorite things in the house is the leather box on the coffee table.  Inside of this box is a handwritten note from Reagan with directions to Nancy on how to operate the TV remote. This is the man-made pond called ‘Lake Lucky’.  Reagan was quoted as saying this property may not be heaven, but definitely shares the same zip code!
