It sure was an awesome evening photographing the Colorado Music Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony honoring Dan Fogelberg, Joe Walsh & Barnstorm and Caribou Ranch.
I really enjoyed learning about the Caribou Ranch recording studio which hosted nearly every big musical group in the 1970’s and early 80’s including Chicago, Elton John, Billy Joel, Deep Purple, John Denver, John Lennon, Rod Stewart, The Beach Boys, Tom Petty, and U2 among many many others… The 4,000 acre ranch was in the Rocky Mountains, near Nederland, Colorado and used until a large fire destroyed the control room in 1985.
It was awesome how many diverse musicians participated in the evening! One of the many highlights was Joe Walsh and Barnstorm performing. Garth Brooks attended to support Dan Fogelberg’s induction and it was neat to see him and Joe Walsh interact backstage:
Some other incredible performers throughout the evening included The Lumineers, John Oates (of Hall & Oates), Richie Furay (Buffalo Springfield), Vince Gill and Michael Martin Murphey:
What a night full of music legends!!!
