Leonardo DiCaprio presented Christopher Nolan with the Modern Master Award last week at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival…and as usual for the awards at the festival, it was an awesome evening!
I keep trying ways to photograph the event to show those that didn’t attend what it looked like…Here’s an image of the crowd of nearly 2,000 people filling into the Arlington Theatre. The seats up front were reserved for the premium sponsors (lynda.com), Christopher Nolan and Leonardo DiCaprio and their guests and the media, so they are empty in the image, but are filled just before the lights go down:
Here are some headshots of Christopher Nolan as he walked the red carpet and hit the interviews (E Network, local news stations and various media from around the world!) : Then the program began with clips of Nolan’s career scattered with interview questions and finally the award presentation:Currently, Christopher Nolan’s movie ‘Inception’ is up for Oscars in the categories of ‘original screenplay’, ‘visual effects’, ‘sound mixing’, ‘sound editing’, ‘art direction’, ‘cinematography’, ‘original score’ and of course, ‘Best Motion Picture of the Year’!!:Congratulations Christopher Nolan and good luck in the Oscars!
