Got Your 6 with McCain, Sara Evans, Eva Longoria, and Flo Rida

I was fortunate enough to photograph for the organization ‘Got Your 6‘ for two events during the RNC and DNC Conventions.  Got your 6 is a military term that means got your back and the mission of the organization is to assists veterans in Jobs, Education, Health, Housing, Family, and Leadership.  The first event took place during the RNC in Tampa at the Glazer Children’s Museum.  Here are a couple images of the city from the museum:

The event began with an elegant red carpet walk.  Media from all of the world covered the arrivals.  Here are a few images of country singer Sara Evans, Senator John McCain and his daughter Meghan arriving:

I wasn’t able to chat with the McCains or hear the interviews, but Sara Evans could not have been any nicer.  She was so kind and friendly and I really enjoyed meeting her.  Meghan McCain introduced Sara Evans for the concert and wished her father a happy 76th birthday.  Here are some of my favorites from her performance:

Sara Evans has a great rendition of the Edwin McCain song ‘I Could Not Ask For More’ and I also love her song ‘Suds in the Bucket’ !

The second event for Got Your 6 was during the DNC in Charlotte at the Amos Southend.  Eva Longoria introduced musical performer Flo-Rida.  Here are some images of them arriving on the red carpet (and one showing Longoria’s hotsy totsy Christian Louboutin shoes).  Flo Rida was very soft spoken, but both were kind, friendly and kept encouraging everyone to vote!

I was really looking forward to photographing the Flo Rida concert, but it was much better than I even imagined.  He’s a very entertaining and energetic performer! At one point he walked in the crowd to sing and another time he climbed a wall to sing from the balcony!

What a neat organization, combining Hollywood actors with fantastic musicians to help raise awareness for taking care of veterans!  I was very glad play a small part and hope I get to work for Got Your 6 again!
