After missing pictures of surfing legend Kelly Slater the night before, I was on a mission to do a much better job photographing Seth Rogan present the Outstanding Performance of the Year award to James Franco during the 2011 Santa Barbara International Film Festival. He was over an hour late arriving, but turns out you can’t have a much better excuse…he was at a rehearsal for the Oscars because he is one of the co-hosts!

My favorite commentator of the festival is Leonard Maltin, he has such great dialogue with everyone!! It was fun watching James Franco… embarrassed and shy at times, and hilarious and entertaining at others:.jpg "IMG_5693")

I believe he said he’s attending his 5th college right now…not because he has to, but just for fun! He even declined an invitation from the ‘Today’ show because he didn’t want to miss class!.jpg "IMG_5720")
It was definitely an intro to give Franco an award, but Seth Rogan also made it a little bit like a roast… He was teasing him relentlessly, then would say he himself (Rogan) deserves the award, then laughed about the theater looking like a Mexican restaurant…the crowd was cracking up!!

I left at the end of the night thinking these two guys would be so much fun to head to the bar with and have a few beers. I bet there’s never a dull moment!!
